The 2017 SLO Triathlon took place Sunday, July 23 at Sinsheimer Park and the SLO Swim Center in the City of SLO.
As always the short course (or sprint) triathlon consisted of a 15 mile bike ride followed by a 0.5 mile swim, and a 3.1 mile run. Participants were sent on the course in waves throughout the day starting at 6:30 a.m. and ending at just before 1 p.m. Approximately 1,000 people annually participate part with individual registration costing $80 per person. Several teams also take part for various causes with members staggering their events.
