San Luis Obispo County has a variety of special events during the Independence Day Weekend. Here’s a list of events around the county to check out during your 4-day holiday weekend. Personal fireworks are not allowed in just about every community in SLO County (though one can buy safe n sane fireworks in Templeton and Oceano). Public fireworks shows are slated for Cambria, Cayucos and Pismo Beach, with a fireworks show also scheduled for after the July 3 San Luis Blues baseball game at Sinsheimer Park in SLO.

A benefit for the Paderewski Festival, is set for 4-7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 1 at the Paso Robles Horse Park. San Luis Symphony, including Youth Symphony members, will perform popular Broadway tunes and classical music with fireworks being shot off to Tchaikovsky’s, “1812 Overture.” Performances by Paderewski Festival winners and a debut Paso Pops performance by, “The Swing Dolls” of Los Angeles.
