The Wellness Kitchen and Resource Center is hosting the 6th Annual Top Chef Competition and Fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 at Idler’s Home Appliances in Paso Robles. Three local chefs — Alex Martin, Adam White and Clare Cranford — will go head-to-head in a timed competition similar to the Food Network’s “Chopped.” Chef Alex, owner of Crush Catering, is a 3-time winner. Chef Adam of Paso Robles Culinary Academy is a 2-time winner and Chef Clare is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, owner of Central Coast Mobile Massage, and a volunteer for The Wellness Kitchen.
Chef Philip Riccomini is the emcee, and judges include Lori Foster, owner of Spice of Life, Mike Lane, COO of Twin Cities Community Hospital, and Kevin Kuhn, senior vice president of Aerospace Group for MW Industries. A fourth judge will be selected by raffle. Proceeds support the “Pay It Forward Healing Foods Program” that provides meals to those going through critical illness, disease and surgery recovery along with the expansion of educational programs and support services.
