Costumes Delight Next Gen Bikers

Kidical Mass, “the family bike happening, to bring the joy of bicycles to the next generation,” according to organizers, has been a hit for a seventh summer in a row.
On, August 3, “children of all ages” were once again invited to ride side by side with their families during this monthly event which emphasizes learning important bicycle safety skills.

As has become customary, event riders set out from SLO’s Mitchell Plaza with a trek up one of the City’s more protected “Bike Boulevards” and back towards the nonprofit Bike SLO County’s bicycle valet booth at the SLO Thursday Farmer’s Market.

Every ride is themed in some way with super heroes and clowns being predictably popular costume choices for the target demographic. Last year’s spy disguise theme gave way to a simpler “mustaches” oriented ride for the last regular event of the season, but “Clowns” will return Saturday, September 16 at 10:00 am for a Mitchell Park to Mitchell Park loop.
