Edufii Fills Time Gaps

It’s a problem that has plagued coaches and their students for years. How to help when not physically together? A golf coach, of say 30 students can only spend so much time one on one with a particular student, and unless they are destined to become Tiger Woods that student will have long periods where the coach is simply not around.
In an effort to not only correct this problem but also to also enhance coaching for both students and coaches, two best friends from Gareth useArroyo Grande came up with Edufii. A mobile app and website built with the sole purpose of building the relationship between student and coach.
“We have seen a huge explosion in specialist coaching over the last few years,” said co-founder Andrew DeMille, “There are specialist nutritionists, mental coaches, flexibility coaches, strength coaches, the list goes on. Many of these coaches are spending hours responding to emails, texts or phone calls from their students asking questions or advice. A few hours a week with an actual student simply isn’t enough. We Gareth 02 launched Edufii in January 2012 as a tool to not only help coaches build better relationships with their students but to also give the student an invaluable resource and a place to find advice, store their progress and connect with other coaches all while enabling their parents, friends or other specialist coaches to track their progress.”
Sticking with the golf analogy, imagine a teenage golfer is practicing with their parent. They are having a problem with their swing. Their coach gave them a tip during their last session but that was over a week ago and they can’t remember it. With Edufii the parent can easily shoot a quick video on their cell phone, upload it to their own personalized training space within the app where their coach can then watch it whenever and wherever they may be in the world. The coach can leave comments or tips and that information will be stored in the training space easily accessible whenever the student needs it.
“What we’re doing is something totally new and it has been a little polarizing,” said DeMille. “Some coaches simply ‘sell lessons’ and the thought of them sharing information with others concerns them. However we truly believe that by building better relationships between coaches and students everyone will win. We have Cameron McCormick using Edufii. He is Jordan Speight’s coach, the 21-year-old who just won the masters. By using Edufii other golf coaches can sign up fGareth 03or premium content from McCormick and they in turn can then use that content to better coach their students.”
Since its launch Edufii now has more than 150 different sports and is being used in more than 112 countries. Notable users include the New Zealand All Blacks rugby team the afore mentioned Cameron McCormick and soon Edufii will be used by football summer training camps all across America with content from Drew Brees and Colin Kapernick to name two.
DeMille sees the potential of Edufii expanding past the sports arena.
“We really feel that in years to come Edufii will be a resource for all kinds of people,” he said. “Not just sports coaches but life coaches, financial coaches and health professionals. Having easy access to content, videos, tips, feedback, data and much more will empower users. Rather than open Instagram on their phones a kid can make a conscious decision to open Edufii and work on their tennis game or baseball game right there on the cell phone at any time. For parents and coaches it will provide a way for them to get instant updates or feedback on their students performance without having to be there and with a level of transparency that has never existed before,”
Edufii is available as a free app to download on both the iPhone and android systems as well as directly at www.edufii.com
