Hidden Treasures Along the Creek

Framed

If you take a stroll along the San Luis Obispo Creekwalk, you will find several pieces of public art along the way. One of those, the Web of Life, was dedicated on Jan. 19th, 2000. The Web of Life is a large bronze sphere ‘symbolizing the continuity of the flowing creek and the wildlife it sustains.  Commissioned by the Mary Jane Duvall Trust and created by artist Sandra Kay Johnson, the Web of Life features egrets, a family of ducks, a raccoon, a possum, a frog, a salamander and a bat.  The sculpture rotates and can be turned to see the animals on all sides. You’ll find the Web of Life along the creek off Nipomo Street near the SLO Children’s Museum.
