Police Seek Witnesses to Injury Accident

San Luis Obispo Police are seeking witnesses to a late night vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in Downtown SLO that left the pedestrian with major injuries.

According to Sgt. John Valenti, at 10:21 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 police and firefighters were dispatched to the corner of Osos and Pacific streets for a report of an injury accident. They discovered that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

“The investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle was traveling on Osos approaching the intersection of Pismo,” said Sgt. Valenti. “When the vehicle entered the intersection, it struck a pedestrian who was crossing Osos perpendicular to the roadway.”

The victim, who has not yet been positively identified, suffered “major injuries because of the collision and was flown to Stanford University Medical Center for further treatment.”

According to Sgt. Valenti, the driver “was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Officers were unable to determine if the pedestrian was impaired from alcohol or drugs due to his medical injuries.”
