SLOHS Grads Make Dean’s List

Erni Whitaker of San Luis Obispo was named to the Dean’s List at Bates College for the Fall 2016 semester ending in December. Whitaker is the daughter of Drs. Stephen and Elizabeth Whitaker of San Luis Obispo, and a 2016 graduate of SLO High School. To make the Dean’s List at Bates, a student has to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.71 or higher (roughly an A- average).

Bates is an internationally-recognized leading liberal arts college located in Lewiston, Maine, with some 2,000 students from across the U.S. and around the world. Another SLO native daughter, Joelle Lewis, made the Fall 2016 Dean’s List at Emerson College in Boston, Mass., the school announced.

Joelle Lewis of San Luis Obispo has been named to the Emerson College Dean’s List for the Fall 2016 semester. Lewis is majoring in media arts production. The requirement to make Emerson’s Dean’s List is a 3.7 or higher GPA. Located opposite the historic Boston Common, in the heart of the city’s Theatre District, Emerson College has some 3,500 undergraduates and 670 graduate students hailing across the U.S. and 50 foreign countries. Supported by state-of-the-art facilities and a renowned faculty, students participate in more than 90 student organizations and performance groups.

Emerson also has learning programs at Emerson Los Angeles, in Hollywood, and at a 14th-Century castle in the Netherlands. Emerson students can also study in Washington, DC, London, China, the Czech Republic, Spain, Austria, Greece, France, Ireland, Mexico, Cuba, England, and South Africa.
