The Pancake Champion

PancakeEatingContest04A new champion was recently named at the 6th Annual Pancake Eating Contest at Penny’s All American Café in Pismo Beach.
Arroyo Grande resident Emanuel Ramos was declared the winner after beating out more than 20 contestants by gobbling up 7 pancakes in 4 minutes and an additional 2.5 pancakes in a 1-minute sudden-death round.
Ramos took home a $300 dollar cash prize and his name was enshrined in the Penny’s “Pancake Wall of Fame” plaque.
The event raised more than $4,000 from house-made jelly and t-shirt sales as well as private donations that was donated to Hospice of SLO County.
