The American Bar Association Journal has named SLO local Andy Greensfelder the winner of its 2015 Ross Short Story Contest at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. in conjunction with the National Book Festival.
The Journal, with the University of Alabama School of Law, also named Deborah Johnson the winner of the Harper Lee Legal Fiction prize for her novel, The Secret of Magic. Greensfelder, a local volunteer at San Luis Obispo Legal Assistance Foundation and California Rural Legal Assistance, won for “Sealed Windows” about an attorney who volunteers legal services at a church food bank where his work for a client puts him in conflict with his own law firm. The story is scheduled for publication in the Journal’s January issue.
