The wait is over. Concerts in the Plaza, SLO’s popular free summer concert series came back to the Mission Plaza with a roar from the Emerald Isle, June 10.
Celtic rock band the Young Dubliners played from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. inaugurating the event for another year. In 2015 the festival ran out of beer for the band’s performance. No word on if they were stocked a little extra for 2016.
Sponsored by Sunset Honda once again, the Downtown association event runs now through Sept. 9 every Friday evening.
Zongo All-Stars, the Afro-Caribbean dance band hit the stage June 24, just a hair too late for this issue of the SLO City News, but the next event, July 1 will feature Diego’s Umbrella, a group of “Rocking Gypsy Urban Mariachis.”
