SLO Man Busted for DUI Crash

San Luis Obispo Police arrested a local man for suspicion of felony drunk driving after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a couple of parked cars and then flipped it.

According to SLOPD Sgt. Jeff Booth, at 5:28 a.m. Tuesday, July 4, police received a report of a collision involving two parked cars and a third, suspect vehicle that was overturned at Buchon and High streets.

“Officers arrived and contacted the sole occupant who was standing near the overturned vehicle,” Sgt. Booth said. “Officers conducted a DUI investigation, and Peter Anacabe, 25 of San Luis Obispo was arrested for driving under the influence. He was booked into County Jail, and his vehicle was towed from the scene.”

The non-injury crash came over the 4th of July holiday, which is a special enforcement time at SLOPD, when alcohol related arrests carry inflated fines.
