San Luis Obispo was represented in the only International Photography Competition. It’s a big world out there and on October 7 the 10th Annual WorldWide Photowalk was held in over 84 countries in 1,000 locations. More than 21,000 photographers came together and photographed their communities, shared their passion for photography, made new friends and were competing for the Grand Prize and over $20,000 dollars in other prizes, and of course, most importantly, bragging rights. Each year they also raise money for a good cause, The Springs of Hope Kenya Orphanage. The Photowalk sponsored by KelbyOne, Canon and other photography and software organizations will announce the winners the week of October 29. The SLO team of photographers spent the 7th in and around the Mission and Downtown area, winding down their walk with a visit to Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop where they picked up a supply of bubblegum to finish their day in BubbleGum Alley. Pictured are some of the photographers taking their hand at blowing bubbles, and leaving their mark on the wall before heading to dinner and sharing their experiences of the day.
