Man Arrested for Kidnapping

 

A  San Luis Obispo man was arrested for suspicion of kidnapping after he allegedly assaulted a woman in public.

According to SLOPD Sgt. Chad Pfarr, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21 police got a 9-1-1 call from a woman in the 11300 block of LOVR reporting that her friend was being assaulted by an unknown man out on the sidewalk.

According to Sgt. Pfarr, the victim, described as a 30-year-old woman, did not suffer any serious injuries from the alleged attack.

Investigators determined that the victim was grabbed by the suspect, who attempted to subdue her and drag her off into a nearby apartment.

The woman’s friend called for help and she fought with her attacker, causing him to let go and run off into the apartment.

Sgt. Pfarr said detectives returned to the scene at about 2 p.m. Monday, April 24 armed with an arrest warrant. Evan Woods, 40 of SLO was arrested without incident and charged with suspicion of kidnapping, battery and false imprisonment. He was booked into County Jail with bail set at $104,000.
