Morro Bay Chamber Business Forums Return

By the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce ~

The Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce’s Monthly Business Forums have returned. On Sept. 17, we brought together our City Mayor, City staff and members of the business community to learn from experts on economic development.

The panel included the SLO Chamber of Commerce CEO, the co-founder of Jamba Juice and the SLO County Dist. 3 Supervisor, who share their unique experience and perspectives.

There was excitement and a sense of optimism among the attendees at the event, held at the Inn at Morro Bay.

Supervisor Adam Hill in particular put it best: “Focus on what you have here. You have the water. You have the trails and bike paths. Look at the resources you have that would make employees of a company want to live here.”

“I think,” he continued, “it’s about improving what we have. Educating individual entrepreneurs or small firms about the Morro Bay lifestyle to attract them. And, educate existing business on how to grow utilizing the resources we have. More importantly, our neighboring cities have to work together. Learn from each other. It’s a county effort.”

Thank you to Future Chamber President, Cyndee Edwards and her fellow Business Forum Committee member and Board member, Ken McMillan, for bringing us such a valuable forum. We look forward to the next one in December.

Chamber News
We are now sharing our space with the Visitor’s Center. So although our space will be shared, we will still remain separate businesses. We expect that this new combination will make it super convenient for tourists. Be on the lookout for an upcoming open house.
