Morro Bay police arrested two local transient men for suspicion of strong arm robbery after they allegedly accosted a woman in her car.
According to MBPD Cmdr. Bryan Millard, at 4:15 p.m. Sunday, April 19, a 49-year-old woman visiting Morro Bay was seated in her parked vehicle near Main Street and Atascadero Road, when she was accosted by several men.

Millard said, “the subjects made verbal threats and one of the subjects struck the woman’s vehicle with a belt. Another of the subjects reached through the victim’s partially opened car window and took the victim’s cell phone from her while she was using it. This caused the victim’s call to disconnect.”
The person she was talking to at the time, called 9-1-1. MBPD investigators gathered evidence that reportedly identified two of the men, Frank Hudson, 57, and Chance Otero, 50, both homeless residents of Morro Bay in the 1700 block of Main St.
Both Hudson and Otero were arrested and booked at County Jail on April 20 for suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, and witness intimidation.
Police are still investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information concerning the case to contact them at 772-6225 or call Crimestoppers at 549-7867 to remain anonymous.
