The Family Care Network’s Annual ‘Miracle Miles for Kids’ 10K fun run saw more than 2,500 runners and walkers make the 6.2 mile trek along Morro Strand Beach from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. The event is a benefit for FCN. Pepe Gonzalez, 22 of Paso Robles was the overall winner in 35 minutes 55 seconds. Nathan Baldwin, 22 of Cambria was second in 37:02. Top female runner was 10-year-old Taylor Jones of Arroyo Grande, who finished ninth overall and clocked 40:20. Second fastest woman was Kimberly Hazard, 50 of Santa Ynez in 43:01. Also of note, the eighth place finisher overall was 12-year-old Aidan Stamford of SLO (39:42). His sister, Serena Stamford, 10, finished 39th overall and was the No. 10 female to finish (45:59). After the run, participants were treated to goodie bags and a street fair that included live music by Burnin’ James and Funky Flames.
